Recent Research Interests
After the collapse of the bubble economy, concentration of economic activity to Tokyo has been continuing. In order to maximize regional competitiveness in the age of globalization, it is very important for local government to promote growth of regional economies and improve productivity in the production of public goods and services. The key objective of my research is to support the creation of stronger local governments that will provide the best possible services to residents with maximum efficiency. In particular I am interested in strategic collaboration across organizations and jurisdictions in local government.
