Recent Research Interests
My area of specialization is modern American literature, with a particular focus on the works of F. Scott Fitzgerald. I am especially interested in exploring the relationship between his short stories and his longer works, using the short fiction as a lens through which to examine the consistency and evolution of his central themes. In particular, I focus on recurring motifs such as loss, dialogue with the Other, and the complexities of American capitalism—how these themes manifest across his oeuvre and relate to his aesthetic vision and historical consciousness. By attending to the unique qualities of the short story form, I aim to shed light on the multifaceted ideas and sensitivities that characterize Fitzgerald’s literary imagination.
