I am interested in two fields in economics. The first one is about the business cycle in Japan, and the other one is about the economics of education, in particular the economic effects of higher education.
As for the business cycle in Japan, I’m currently studying the business fluctuations in the long run in terms of the compound theory of business cycle. I’m focusing on some economic variables, for example, the cumulative DI, the growth rate of GDP and the business conditions DI, and so on. I categorize these economic variables into three components, Kitchen cycle, Juglar cycle, Kuznets cycle respectively.
In regards to the economics of education, I’m studying the economic effects of higher education, particularly the relationship between labor productivity and public expenditure on educational institutions. And I am also interested in the rate of return for higher education in Japan.
