Research Interests

My research interests are mainly in the field of Industrial Policy and Regulatory Economics. My academic works are about privatization and deregulation of public utilities in the EU, UK and Japan. For many years I focused on the electricity tariff after liberalization, the reform of postal services, the restructuring of water companies, the strategies of airline and airport business, and the unbundling of railway sectors. Recently I extended my investigation on the issues of concession scheme for infrastructure industries, cross-border interconnection planning such as Trans-European Networks, energy mix between fossil fuel, nuclear and renewables, shareholders structure in privatized companies, and universal services especially in rural transport.
